Easter Goose Egg Hunting

Cullen Rowland and Aaron Stubblefield got their Easter egg hunting done a little early this year, as the two combined for a no-hitter vs. Center. Rowland started the game and went four innings with eight strikeouts. He faced thirteen batters, one more than the minimum, allowing only one to reach base via a walk. Stubblefield came in to close the fifth striking out two batters and picking off the other at first base. Stubblefield also contributed at the plate with two hits, two runs scored and two RBI. Senior Vince Saviano was the table setter reaching base his first three times at the plate, scoring on each occasion. Rowland also helped his cause at the plate with three RBI. The Celtics mercy ruled the Yellowjackets by winning 10-0 in five innings. The Celtics are now 2-0 in conference play and look to keep things rolling tonight at St. Pius X.

JV

The JV team also got solid pitching and good hitting to win 9-0. Junior pitcher Drew Fennesy threw all four innings for the complete game shutout. Fennesy allowed only two hits while striking out ten. Sophomore Dante Obie was the star at the plate going 2-2 with a triple and three RBI.
