Celtics split with Class 4 schools

On Tuesday the Celtic baseball team split a doubleheader between Lee' Summit and Raytown South. In the first game vs. Lee's Summit, O'Hara could not muster any clutch hitting when runners were in scoring position. Vince Saviano started the game allowing four earned runs over four innings. Junior Aaron Stubblefield pounded out two hits, while Jared Ginter and Sam Janet each had a hit.

O'Hara did turn around in the second game to earn a come from behind 8-7 vs. Raytown South. The Celtics were cruising along with Jake Slocum on the hill with a comfortable two run lead. However, the lead was wiped away in the fifth inning. Raytown South brought eleven men to the plate that inning scoring five runs to take a 8-5 lead. The Celtics then rallied in the bottom of the sixth and scored four runs of their own. Alex Gaul-Pearson started the inning with a solid single to right center. Jared Ginter, Vince Saviano followed with a base on balls and a infield hit, respectively. With the bases loaded Aaron Stubblefield walked to bring in Gaul-Pearson. A couple more fielder choices and infield errors found the Celtics to have a one run lead going into the top of the seventh. Junior Aaron Mitchell closed the door in the seventh by striking out the side to capture the victory for O'Hara.
